Your trust matters to us. This policy explains how HopeWorks collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Last updated: July 1, 2026
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you make a donation, sign up to volunteer, register for an event, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us through our website forms. This may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and donation history.
We also automatically collect limited technical information when you visit our site, including your browser type, device information, and pages viewed, to help us improve our website experience.
Donor information is used to process contributions, issue tax receipts, acknowledge gifts, and keep you informed about the impact of your support. We treat donation records as confidential and restrict access to staff who need it to perform their duties.
We will never sell, rent, or trade our donor list to any third party. Payment card details are processed by our PCI-compliant payment providers and are never stored on our servers.
When you submit a contact, volunteer, or newsletter form, we use the information you provide solely to respond to your request and, where you have opted in, to send you program updates and event invitations. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out of communications at any time.
Our website uses a small number of cookies to remember your preferences and to gather anonymous, aggregated analytics about how visitors use our site. These analytics contain no personally identifying information. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; core pages of our site will continue to work without them.
We share personal information only with trusted service providers who help us operate — such as payment processors, email delivery platforms, and event registration tools — and only to the extent necessary for them to perform those services. Each provider is bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and use it solely on our behalf.
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. We retain personal data only as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, after which it is securely deleted.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing hello@hopeworks.org or writing to us at 123 Hope Street, Springfield, IL 62701. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
